REMIX THE RUNWAY COLLABORATES WITH WINDOWS OF OPPORTUNITY

“SUPPORTING EDUCATION WITH BIG FASHION”
NOVEMBER 14, 2010

Chicago, IL – Remix the Runway is collaborating with title sponsors J-Bee’s, Power 92, Pelle Pelle and Palladium to present the hottest fashion show in the Midwest! This year’s show will feature performances by Grammy nominated recording artist, Keri Hilson and Def Jam recording artist Jeremih, and other celebrity talent. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the nonprofit organization Windows of Opportunity supporting educational scholarships for disadvantage youth in Chicago.  Tickets be can purchased at your local J-Bee’s retailer and The Harris Theater Millennium Park.

The 4^th Annual Remix the Runway will take place at the Harris Theatre Millennium Park on Sunday November 14^th at 7:30 pm. This unique event combines music, comedy, and fashion while aspiring models work the runway scene by scene.

Tickets prices range between $25-$50 and can purchased at your local J-Bee’s retailer and The Harris Theater Millennium Park. By tuning in daily, Power 92 listeners will have the opportunity to win tickets to the event.

Starting on November 5, 2010, the models picture will be featured on www.remixtherunway.com and the voting process will begin. Models are encouraged to promote themselves through social media sites, such as Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter to gain the most votes.  In 2009, over 100,000 votes were cast to determine the top male and top female grand prized winners. This year’s prizes include a shopping spree from J-Bee’s, a professional photography session with celebrity photographer Parrish Lewis, and much more!

Remix the Runway is known for showcasing the hottest designers in today’s fashion. This year each scene will be filled with designs by Palladium, Pelle Pelle, Eight732, LRG, Parish, Rocawear, Live Mechanics, Orisue, New Era, Puma, Lacoste, Diesel, 7 for All Mankind, True Religion and will feature clothing from local Chicago boutiques like Deliciously Vintage.  Grammy nominated recording artist, Keri Hilson and Def Jam recording artist Jeremih, and a special guest rapper will provide the crowd with musical entertainment by performing their chart topping hits.

A portion of this year’s proceeds will be donated to Windows of Opportunity to assist funding scholarships for disadvantaged youth to help them look beyond their current circumstances and dream of a brighter future. Additional event entertainment will be provided by NBC’s ‘Last Comic Standing’ contestant Lil Rel as host, along with violinist Lee England Jr. and music provided by DJ Vince.
